The returns on a karma policy don't arrive in an account. They arrive in a life. You'll find them in the moment you acted the way you intended to — and knew it. In the relationship that held because you showed up differently. In the door that opened because you'd been the kind of person who deserved to walk through it. We don't send statements. The universe keeps the ledger.
You shouldn't — unless paying makes it real for you. Setting an intention costs nothing. Writing it down costs nothing. But there is something that happens when you put a price on a commitment. It stops being a thought and becomes a decision. That's what the payment is for. Not the certificate. The decision.
A portion goes to spiritual organizations we support. A portion goes to people doing real work in the world. The rest goes to the two humans in Oregon who built this. We are serious about all three parts.
Karma is a Sanskrit word meaning simply "action" or "deed." One of the oldest principles in human thought — shared across Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, and Sikh traditions for more than three thousand years. At its core: what you do, and the intention behind it, shapes what comes back to you. Not as punishment from outside. Karma operates as an autonomous law, not a divine sentence. It is consequence. The life you build by how you live. The Buddhist tradition adds the sharpest point: intention is not a prelude to karma. Intention is karma. The act begins the moment you decide. This is why we ask you to set one. Not because a certificate changes anything. Because deciding clearly — about the kind of person you want to be, across this life and the ones still coming — is itself the first act of becoming that person. The rest is yours to do. It always was.
Every action affects your karmic policy. Nothing is exempt. The preference you set is an intention, not an order. What you declare here, you are also agreeing to live toward. The universe is not a vending machine, and this is not a loophole. If you are here to outwit the universe, we wish you luck.
It is possible because intention travels.
